Armed Forces Reunion
Saturday 08 August 2026
Dear OH’s,

Thank you to everyone for their patience and as promised my ‘round robin’ email covering the event on the 8th August. After this year I will arrange the gathering to take place on a biennial basis. I hope that the details below are comprehensive enough and self explanatory, should anyone require any further information then please do email/ring me with your queries.

Venue : The Anchor Inn, Tintern. NP16 6TE (///W3W blacken.wardrobe.streaking). Telephone Number: 01291 689582. (The Anchor Inn)

Please aim to arrive on the day between 1130hrs -1155hrs. Additionally, do come armed with your CCF stories and of course your thoughts on serving within the Armed Forces. The carvery lunch will start at 1200hrs with both vegan and vegetarian options being available (nut roast). This year the cost of the carvery has once again been held at £17.50 per head and should anyone wish to have a dessert afterwards these will cost an additional £7.75 each. However, all drinks will have to be paid for individually. There will be no seating plan therefore please sit where and with whom you wish to during the lunch. We have been given a two and half and half hour time frame for the carvery meal, after which we are welcome to use the outside/internal seating areas. If the weather is good the manager will open up the patio doors allowing us to directly spill out on to the outside sitting area. Please note also that this gathering is also open to wives/partners. Well behaved dogs are also welcome at The Anchor Inn.

Dress: Come as you feel and wearing what you feel comfortable in.

Parking: There are two large car parks outside The Anchor Inn, including the Abbey Museum car parking area. The Anchor Staff will be given a list of those attending and their vehicle registration. Parking will be free in both areas. Please do show your parking ticket to the Bar staff before you leave and you will receive a refund.

In the meantime could I ask all OH’s to chase your contemporaries via your various networks informing them of this event. Also anyone keen to attend should use me as the POC and via email, especially if they wish to have their name added to the list for the 8th August.

Provisionally we are booked in from 1200hrs - 1430hrs as a group. However, I am sure that many of you will wish to stay on beyond this time frame and perhaps chat until the early evening. This is not a problem as I will be staying until the last OH departs.

Payments: Please pay the necessary amount in to the account listed below which has been set up specifically for the OH Gathering. Payments are due by the 1st July 2026. When making your payment please reference it with your surname and initials (married OH’s please add your nee surname where applicable).
